Simona can't recall ever beating Roosters

Wests Tigers centre Tim Simona says he can't ever remember his team beating the Sydney Roosters.

The 23-year-old has only ever played the Roosters once in his five years in the NRL, and that was a 56-14 hiding two years ago.

But none of his teammates have a much better record against the Tricolours either, with the Roosters winning 10 of their past 11 matches against the joint-venture outfit, dating back to 2010.

In fact, just five of the 18 players named by coach Jason Taylor to take on the Roosters this Friday night have ever walked off the field with a win over the Bondi-based club.

"I don't think I've ever played a game where we've beaten the Roosters, from what I can remember," Simona said on Wednesday.

"It just shows it's a hard task. They're a hard team to beat, and we want to turn that around this weekend."

Simona will go head-to-head with in-form Roosters weapon Blake Ferguson, who has totalled a staggering 426 metres, 13 tackle breaks and five line breaks over the past fortnight alone.

The Tigers three-quarter rates Queensland duo Justin Hodges and Will Chambers as his toughest opponents so far in his five-year career, but acknowledged the purple patch his direct opposite is currently enjoying.

"I've never played him, (but) he's a big boy," he said.

"So I've just got to be on my game and hopefully try and limit the touches he gets.

"From my experience, one of the hardest centres I've played against was the one on the weekend: Justin Hodges. He's just unpredictable, and he's always hard to handle.

"And also Chambers is one of the best centres I've come up against.

"From what I've heard, (Blake's) a good player and he's going to be a huge task for me.

"But I'll be up for it."

The Roosters have won their past six against the Wests Tigers and have scored at least 30 points in each of those games, including a 36-4 rout in May earlier this season.

Tigers skipper Robbie Farah failed to take part in a field session on Wednesday but could be a late inclusion for the match.
