Blame us, not Taylor: Tigers players

Wests Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe has thrown his support behind embattled coach Jason Taylor, saying he will remain at the NRL club until at least the end of 2016.

The Tigers have lost their past six games, and their 54-point mauling at the hands of Canberra on Saturday night was the equal-fourth worst in their history.

And while Pascoe labelled the performance embarrassing, he stated that he was happy with the coaching staff have made in the past six months.

"Certainly at this stage we are planning to honour (Taylor's) contract until the end of 2017 but we will make a review, as every club does, at the end of 2016," Pascoe told News Corp Australia.

Pascoe also denied speculation the club had sounded out the club's former under-20s coach Todd Payten or sacked Penrith mentor Ivan Cleary to be Taylor's successor.
