Wests Tigers coach Jason Taylor has benched veteran hooker Robbie Farah for Friday night's NRL clash with South Sydney.

Dene Halatau will start at hooker with NSW rake Farah to begin the match on the sidelines.

Taylor has denied an ongoing feud with Farah and said he would make team decisions based on what's best for the side.

Meanwhile, Souths have been struck a blow with Luke Keary succumbing to an ankle injury, forcing a reshuffle of Michael Maguire's side.

Aaron Gray comes into the line up at centre while Bryson Goodwin will start in the unfamiliar position of back-row.
