Canterbury five-eighth Josh Reynolds is the latest NRL star to jump to the defence of Robbie Farah, saying the embattled Wests Tigers' veteran deserves to be treated better.

Farah on Tuesday was named in reserve grade for the second week in a row, as coach Jason Taylor continued to stick by his belief that the NRL side were better without their former captain.

Reynolds, who became friends with Farah during his first State of Origin series in 2013, said Farah could consider himself hard done by to be demoted to NSW Cup.

"I don't want to go too much into it because there's so much going on there but he's a NSW hooker. I think that's all you have to say," Reynolds said.

"You can ask any Wests Tiger fan what they think of Robbie and they'll have the highest regards for him."

Farah, 32, is the club's longest-serving player, a member of the merger club's maiden 2005 premiership team and, according to Reynolds, should be treated with more respect.

"I feel he shouldn't get his way, because he's a player and not one player is bigger than any club and he knows that," Reynolds said.

"But I feel for what he's done for the club - he stuck loyal, he's had opportunities to go to other clubs for some good cash - he should end his career, if not on a high, but just being happy."

Reynolds said he was unsure whether Farah would be content with serving out the final year of his contract in reserve grade but supported any move the incumbent NSW rake made.

"Obviously, it's something you don't really want to talk about with him. You want to talk about everything else but that," he said.

"But he'll make the best decision for his future and I back him in whatever he does."
