Wests Tigers players insist a virus that has quarantined skipper Aaron Woods and veteran Dene Halatau hasn't hampered preparations for their do-or-die NRL clash on Sunday.

The Tigers need eighth-placed Gold Coast to lose to North Queensland on Saturday night, and then defeat Canberra the following day to steal the final spot in the top eight.

But their finals ambitions have been rocked by a virus that ruled Kyle Lovett out from last week's win over the Warriors, and left Woods and Halatau bed-ridden early this week.
